MISSION
STATEMENT:
" To foster and promote the art and science of diving in
Alberta, as a Section of the Canadian Amateur Diving Association and its
affiliates." (Adopted at the Planning Session of 1983 and reaffirmed in
subsequent years.)
MAJOR
OBJECTIVES:
Administration:
To operate Alberta Section (A Society registered in Alberta)
through:
-
Governance of the organised sport in
Alberta;
-
Executive Meetings and Planning
Sessions;
-
An
Annual General Meeting;
-
Participation in CADA Inc. (the federally
chartered National Sports Governing Body);
-
Preparation of submissions to governments, other
agencies, corporations and individuals, on behalf of diving;
-
Acquisition and expenditure of funds and other
resources.
Leadership:
To foster the development of emerging and existing clubs by
assisting with:
-
The provision of resource information to
organisations, institutions, groups and individuals interested in
diving;
-
The training of technical, official, executive,
administrative staff and volunteers;
-
Publicising diving as a sport;
-
Provision of qualified judges for competitions so
that a diver will not be judges by his/her peers or coach.
Program
Development:
To assist divers to attain their full potential through assistance
in:

Talent Identification;
-
Diver training and development;
-
High performance training and
competition;
-
Governing registration and sanctioning
competitions;
-
Developing competitive and recreational
diving;
-
Obtain access to good boards and related
equipment;

Conduct of competitions and
outreach.
